Chris Charlton is well know and regarded for his pioneering work with Keith Burton And His Beef Curtain and Two Man Cuppy but it is his more minor works with the likes of Pylon and Protectors that have always influenced One Day, After School.
ODAS’ U-Boat Ep was an attempt to use those more melodic approaches to songwriting. ‘Closing’ was written after an afternoon drink with Chris during which he gave up the secrets of his songwriting. And Chris officially joined the band by contributing guitar and BVs to the closing track on that EP ‘Between The Vapours’.
More recently Chris has contributed harmonies to ‘Invisible Anchor’ and ‘There Is Nothing For You Here. We’ve yet to persuade him to join us on stage however…
